 A good investment

By asking for the direct support of people who appreciate what I am doing, I have the opportunity to totally escape the negative effects of advertisements and concentrate all my energy on spreading environmental awareness.

By working together we are able to multiply our investment by giving a voice to messages, artists and activists who can not afford to pay for this media attention. Visibility on social networks is extremely expensive, Facebook ads cost a lot of money. By working on my pages I create and maintain active communities that allow these important messages to reach millions of people, without paying tens of thousands of dollars to Facebook to do so.

The advantage of crowdfunding is that it allows us to be highly effective without creating a heavy burden for the people who support the platform. It’s up to you to see how much you are able to invest in my work. Maybe 5 euros a month is feasible, maybe even a euro is too much for your budget and I know that unfortunately for many people this is the case. So support my work only if you feel that you have the means to do it.

Most people support me through Paypal (scroll down) , but you could also do it on Patreon, in case you have an account – https://www.patreon.com/arbres . One dollar donations are only available on Patreon.

Learn more about my work

More Trees Less Assholes is a Facebook page, where a community of people passionate about the protection of the environment share ideas, information and art related to the protection of the environment. The page is run by one person ( Hi, my name is Aleks !), but exists through the active participation of thousands of its members. Every day we share high quality information on various subjects produced by scientists, international organizations,  artists, bloggers etc.  We try to promote important content on Facebook through our online interactions, which is not easy, but it’s necessary. Messages against consumerism are not very popular, but they are crucial in the context of a rapidly warming planet and dwindling primeval forests. Media reach costs a lot of money, and that is true even for social media. Trees can’t put ads on TV and they can’t pay to boost their posts on Facebook, but together we can be an effective voice for those who don’t have one. I manage the vibrant French-speaking sister-community, Plus d’Arbres Moins de Connards, where we do the same work, but with people from France, Belgium, Canada and Switzerland.

Green blogs

moretreeslessassholes.org is the blog where I  share my thoughts on facts about deforestation and climate change. I like to talk about the political and psychological reasons behind climate change denial and inaction. I run two blogs in French as well : luniversestennous.com and veganews.eu, where I also touch on other subjects like artificial intelligence and meditation on top of the usual environmental-related content. My blogs are free of advertisements, don’t use any cookies (expect the ones required by WordPress) and are always open to guest posts of people of activists, writers and artists who are looking to bring more attention on their work.

Effectiveness

I try to use whatever skills I have in order to promote ecological awareness as much as I can, through social media. I create visual content like posters and memes, because they give a greater exposure to our cause. I also write various articles, where I try to present serious information in an easily digestible way and in an attractive package.  A pretty picture, a good slogan or a catchy title can bring the spotlight to a subject that wouldn’t necessarily receive the attention it deserves. I hated being in front of a  camera, but in order to maximize my effectiveness I started to improve my skills and  produce videos in French and English.  Hopefully you’ll see much more videos in 2019. It’s an effective way to communicate with the community and I don’t want to overlook it.
